Data Science Initiative RED Talks

The Data Science Initiative (DSI) at NC State has announced its Fall RED Talks. These talks are likely to be of considerable interest to members of the Humanities and Social Science community.



The talks slated for this fall str:

  • Dr. Elliot Inman of SAS: "Quantification: The Art of Making Data," September 28, 7:00 p.m., Mountains Ballroom, Talley Student Union. This talk coincides with a series of workshops in the DH Hill Library Makerspace
  • Dr. Laura Hass of IBM: "The Power Behind the Throne: Information Integration in the Age of Data-Driven Discovery," October 18, 7:00 p.m., Duke Energy Hall, Hunt Library
  • Dr. Jeff Leek of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, "Is Most Published Research Really False?" November 2, 7:00 p.m., Mountains Ballroom, Talley Student Union. This also includes poster sessions from 5 to 7 and from 8 to 9 p.m. See the website for details.
