Poster Call For Triangle Smart Cities Summit

Dear Colleagues,

As you have hopefully noted on your calendars, NC State University and the City of Raleigh are jointly hosting the first ever Triangle Smart Cities Summit on Tuesday, June 6th, 2017, from 8:30 - 3:00 in the Hunt Library. A copy of the agenda can be found here, https://research.ncsu.edu/smartcities/triangle-smart-cities-innovation-summit/.

During the morning session in Hunt Library Auditorium, we are bringing a national perspective to discuss how universities, cities, and industry are working collaboratively to solve complex challenges with innovative solutions in the smart cities arena. From there, local city, industry, and academic leaders are on hand to engage in discussions sharing ideas on how to make our region a smarter and more connected community.

The afternoon will consist of a poster session from 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM, where area academic, municipality, and industry members can highlight their ongoing research efforts in and around Smart Cities and help to drive future collaborations. Smart Cities is a broad topic with diverse meaning that enables unique approach to problem identification and dynamic solution development. We welcome anything of interest under this banner and would love to have your research on display. Posters can be dropped off in Duke Energy Hall in Hunt Library between 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. We will provide poster backer board and easels to display your research and ask that someone be present to discuss to the research during the afternoon. We would like to keep the posters on display through two follow on afternoon and evening programs with the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster and RIoT, but someone manning the poster is not required. Posters will be collected and returned later that week if desired.

Please help us make this event a success by signing up to display your poster via this very short Google Form, https://goo.gl/forms/Nv55V9KXOEl5aIQA2, and send this email to your colleagues doing research under the Smart Cities umbrella. Our goal is to have a diverse poster session as possible!

Please reach out to Jamie Roseborough, DSI Program Manager, 919-515-7320 or jvrosebo@ncsu.edu, with any questions. Thank you for your continued support of the Data Science Initiative at NC State

All events are free and open to the public, and sharing this invitation is encouraged.
