ORIED’s Research Development Office and the Proposal Development Unit are pleased to announce a new NIH-focused workshop that will provide insider insights into the perceptions and thinking of NIH study section grant reviewers.  The workshop will be held on May 30th and 31st, 2017, in Textiles Room 2431 on NC State’s Centennial Campus.  This event is free, but registration is requested.
This interactive workshop led by Dr. Ken Adler, College of Veterinary Medicine Professor of Cell Biology, will include a detailed review and analysis of selected Specific Aims pages provided by workshop participants.
This is your opportunity to submit Specific Aims pages (current or previous) for review and critique by Dr. Adler.  Should you have study section critiques from previous reviews of these proposals, please forward that as well.  Up to 15 Specific Aims pages from workshop participants will be accepted for review, critique and discussion at the workshop.  Aims pages, written for RO1, R21, as well as K, P, and U funding mechanisms, should be submitted prior to May 10, 2017, with your registration.  Should you anticipate submission of an NIH proposal for one of the upcoming June deadlines, please indicate this on the registration form.  Dr. Adler will expedite these reviews and provide comments prior to the workshop.
For questions regarding this workshop and/or the Specific Aims page submission process, please contact Dr. Jon Horowitz.
