Event
Details:
Are you an
NC State faculty member who has been contacted by overseas undergrad, graduate
students,or faculty requesting the opportunity to come and conduct research,
intern, or otherwise partner with you on some project?
Were you
interested but uncertain of whether the solicitation was legitimate, or how to
move forward?
To learn
more about visa options, procedures, and tools for working with existing or
potential overseas researchers, join OIS Thursday September 8th, 2011 at 11 am
in the Monteith Research Center Auditorium for a discussion on J-1 options for
visiting international researchers.
We will go
over the different J-1 visa options for undergraduate, graduate, post-doc, and
faculty researchers requesting to join your department. One of the J-1 options,
the Student Intern category (for undergraduate and graduate researchers) is
moving from the GTI to OIS this Fall. (All J-1 options will then be
conveniently processed by one office, OIS).
Faculty and
staff who are either new to or familiar with J-1 visa options will benefit from
this overview and update!
