The Second Cycle of the Global Innovation Initiative is Now Open

Colleagues, this is strongly STEM oriented, but CHASS disciplines have a lot to offer these projects. Please review and see if you can contribute.

The second cycle of the Global Innovation Initiative is now open.

A joint effort of the United States and the United Kingdom, the Global Innovation Initiative aims to support multilateral research collaboration between institutions of higher education in the U.S., the UK and higher education institutions in Brazil, China, India, and Indonesia.

The Global Innovation Initiative seeks to support research with an emphasis on multidisciplinary science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)‐related issues of worldwide significance.

This grant competition is administered by the Institute of International Education on behalf of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Accredited U.S. post‐secondary educational institutions meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 U.S.C. 501c(3) are invited to submit proposals to support the program’s goals of encouraging international academic engagement in the STEM fields through cooperation with post‐secondary educational institutions from the UK and a designated partner country, in the thematic areas of energy, climate change and the environment; agriculture, food security and water; global health and well-being; and future cities.

Proposals are due by October 31st, 2014 at 5:00pm EST.
