University Global Partnership Network Research Collaboration Fund
This fund supports international activities leading to research collaborations between researchers at the University Global Partnership Network’s partner institutions. Network members are top universities around the world including The University of São Paulo in Brazil, University of Surrey in the United Kingdom and The University of Wollongong in Australia.

The annual fund of $240,000 has supported 56 international research projects to date. Awards support substantive engagement that leads to high-quality outputs — such as international research training for graduate students or early career faculty, publication of joint papers from collaborative research, or joint research bids.

NC Biotechnology Center
Application guidelines for the third round of Pfizer-GTF proposals are now posted online. This unique program is a partnership between Pfizer, Inc. and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center that supports the scientific and professional development of exceptional postdoctoral fellows interested in establishing research careers in gene therapy. Competitive awards fund two-year fellowships that enable early-career scientists to conduct research in the laboratories of gene therapy-related investigators at any North Carolina university.

NSF: Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) Program
The Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) program is designed to encourage the development and implementation of bold, new, and potentially transformative approaches to STEM graduate education training. The program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers.

Limit - 2 per institution, as lead or as partner (Organizations participating solely as evaluators on projects are excluded from this limitation.)

NIH: Director's Early Independence Awards (DP5) **Student Opportunity**
The NIH Director's Early Independence Award supports exceptional investigators who wish to pursue independent research essentially after completion of their terminal doctoral/research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training, thereby forgoing the traditional post-doctoral training period and accelerating their entry into an independent research career. To be eligible, the investigator, at the time of application, must have received the most recent doctoral degree or completed clinical training within the previous fifteen months or expect to do so within the following twelve months.

Keck Foundation: Research Program
The Research Program seeks to benefit humanity by supporting projects in two specific areas (1) medical research and (2) science and engineering, that are distinctive and novel in their approach, question the prevailing paradigm, or have the potential to break open new territory in their field. Historically, grants range from $500,000 to $5 million and are typically $2 million or less.
Internal deadline -  Concept Paper: 6/13/19
Limit - One per grant cycle, in each area (Science & Engineering or Medical Research)
Sponsor deadline - Pre-application counseling: 7/1 - 8/15, Phase I application: 11/1/19

This program supports active long-term collaborative partnerships between K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, and Mathematics (STEM) in-service and pre-service teachers, full-time community college faculty, and university faculty and students to enhance the scientific disciplinary knowledge and capacity of the STEM teachers and/or community college faculty through participation in authentic summer research experiences with engineering and computer science faculty researchers.

Limit -  Three Site proposals may be submitted per competition by a U.S. academic institution, as the lead institution. No more than two of the three proposals may have an engineering focus and only one of the three proposals may have a computer and/or information science focus.

The Summer Stipends program provides $6,000 to support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of performance of two consecutive months.

PhRMA Foundation: Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Pharmacology/Toxicology **Student Opportunity**
Pharmacology/toxicology awards support career development activities of scientists embarking on research that integrates information on molecular or cellular mechanisms of action with information on the effects of an agent observed in an intact organism, in experimental animal or clinical studies or both. Applicants must be full-time, in-residence pharmacology or toxicology students enrolled in U.S. schools of medicine, pharmacy, public health, dentistry, or veterinary medicine.

The RWJF Healthy Communities theme is interested in identifying and funding a Rural Learning and Coordinating Center to work alongside RWJF, rural communities, and others in the field committed to improving rural health equity and well-being in our nation. A single grant of up to $2 million will be awarded through this call for proposals.
