The U.S. National Science Foundation recently announced several new or updated funding opportunities inviting participation from researchers and students in the social, behavioral and economic sciences.
Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
The NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics program supports domestic low-income students enrolled in associate, baccalaureate or graduate degree programs in STEM fields of strategic importance to the U.S. The program was recently expanded to include disciplines within the social, behavioral and economic sciences.
Build and Broaden
The Build and Broaden program focuses on supporting research, training opportunities and the creation of greater research infrastructure at minority-serving institutions. The program recently updated its proposal submission guidelines, including replacing deadlines with target dates.
Ethical and Responsible Research
The Ethical and Responsible Research program supports fundamental science centered on the responsible conduct of research and the adoption of that knowledge by STEM researchers, educators and others. The program recently updated its proposal submission guidelines and includes new information on the types of research questions supported by the program.
Predicting Transformation of Living Systems in Evolving Environments
NSF’s Understanding the Rules of Life: Emergent Networks program supports multidisciplinary research investigating the intertwined networks that connect living things, from individual cells to entire ecosystems. “Predicting Transformation of Living Systems in Evolving Environments” is the focus of the program’s updated guidelines, including detailed requirements for proposals and other instructions.
