November 29: Department of Defense Research Round Robin

UNC GA has announced the following Department of Defense event to our faculty:

The UNC Defense Application Group (DAG) will host a “Round Robin” on November 29th to provide tips for working with the Department of Defense (DoD).  We invite UNC faculty to meet individually with DAG faculty and technical advisors, spending 5-10 minutes with each pitching ideas and receiving feedback on potential DoD program matches and next steps.

Who should come?
UNC faculty interested in pursuing defense research funding and opportunities to transition active research programs to military applications or customers.  Do you have a research idea but are not sure if DoD would be interested?  Do you currently have a project sponsored by DoD but are not sure how to reach the next phase of technology development?  If so, this event is for you!

How to register and prepare:
·         To attend, contact John Johnston at jwjohnston@northcarolina.edu by 5pm on November 16, 2012.
·         *NOTE: Plan to bring several copies of a short description (1 paragraph up to 2 pages maximum – White Paper format) of your research idea or project summary.
