Gulf Research Program’s Award Year 2016 Synthesis Grants

There are considerable opportunities here, in particular, for social scientists to participate in this research.

Dear Colleagues,

The letter of intent submission deadline is approaching for the Gulf Research Program’s Award Year 2016 Synthesis Grants funding opportunity (April 27 at 5pm ET). A letter of intent is required for this opportunity, which is designed to support scientific synthesis connecting environmental, social, and/or health data. Proposed projects should address one of the following two themes (abbreviated below and described in detail in the full RFA):
1.      Coastal communities: Advancing understanding of the short-term and long-term impacts of offshore oil and gas operations on human communities in coastal regions adjacent to the U.S. outer continental shelf, or
2.      Human exposure: Advancing study design, tools, models and technologies for assessing human exposure to environmental contaminants, particularly those related to oil and gas operations, and related impacts on individuals and communities.

Before submitting a letter of intent, watch the brief video tutorial about this opportunity. Full details and a link to the online application system are available at http://www.nas.edu/gulf/grants/synthesisgrants.

Regards,
The Gulf Research Program
