Health Research in Underserved Populations: NC TraCS Special Pilot
The NC TraCS Institute is seeking submissions for its special pilot RFA “Promoting Health Equity by Including Underrepresented Participants in Research.” The purpose of this special RFA, sponsored by TraCS’ Integrating Special Populations Program and the Center for Health Equity Research (CHER) is to facilitate research that promotes health equity for groups who have traditionally been under-represented in health research or excluded altogether (e.g., people who live in rural areas, populations with low socioeconomic status, people with disabilities, adolescents, older adults, the LGBTQ community, African Americans, Native Americans, and Latinos). Ten Seats Remain: NSF CAREER Workshop March 26
NSF’s prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers support for early-career faculty seeking to build strong foundations for research and education in their respective fields. Faculty interested in submitting a CAREER proposal are invited to attend a workshop covering key aspects of proposal development. The workshop, hosted by the Proposal Development Unit and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will be held in Duke Energy Hall B on the 2nd floor of the James B. Hunt, Jr. Library from 1 to 3:30 PM on Monday March 26.

W.T. Grant Foundation Scholar Awards
The William T. Grant Foundation has posted its solicitation for the 2018 Scholars Awards. See http://wtgrantfoundation.org/grants/william-t-grant-scholars-program
The online application opens on April 23. All applications must be received by July 5, 2018, at 5 pm.
The foundation allows our college to nominate one exceptionally qualified candidate for this award. With this in mind, while the foundation deadline is July 5, the college's internal deadline for this program will be May 1. This will provide the successful applicant with plenty of time to work with our office to prepare a competitive proposal.
